❓What is the Purpose of the Space Nation DAO?

The Space Nation DAO is building to decentralize decision-making and empower the community with the decision making ability to shape the project. It invites members to bring their skills, ideas and networks to fast-track the growth of the Space Nation virtual world. As co-creators of this roadmap, the strategic vision of the Space Nation DAO is to create sustainable value and reward for the Space Nation community and $OIK holders

🧐What Can The DAO Shape?

In Phase 1, the sandbox stage, the DAO can vote on a wide range of proposals across 4 growth tracks , covering key areas like:

👉🏻Treasury Management: Token allocation, disbursement, management & reporting of Space Nation DAO treasury

👉🏻Game Development: Upgrades, new features, and creative content ideas for Space Nation Online.

👉🏻Token Economy: Enhancements to $OIK within the legal framework of utility tokens

👉🏻Charter Amendment: Proposed changes to the DAO governance structure or foundational rules.

What's the roadmap for DAO governance evolution?

The transition to full DAO governance will be completed in 3 phases, ensuring progressive decentralization and optimisation in the weighting of roles and responsibilities. Here's how it unfolds:

⏰Phase 1: From Company-led to DAO-led Governance (April - June 2025)

Appoint the first Guardians (G7) and Stellar Council.
Begin transferring decision-making powers in Treasury, Game Development, and Token Economy to the DAO.
Upgrad the Genesis Charter to define a broader governance framework: including veOIK-based participation, membership rights, proposal mechanisms, and excution logic.

⏰Phase 2: From Representative to Community-wide Governance (Q3-Q4 2025)

Launch formal elections for Guardians (G7) and Stellar Council (SC), completing the foundational structure of G7-SC-Community Voter.
Implement specialized proposal flows and execution processes for each governance category.
Enable efficient and inclusive governance driven by active community participation.

⏰Phase 3: Expanding the Scope of DAO Governance (2026 & beyond)

Once governance structure and workflows are stable, expand the DAO's decision-making scope.
Include major strategic areas like IP development, brand direction, and new product initiatives into DAO governance.

What Is My Role In The DAO?

Every captain who holds the Space Nation governance staked $OIK token, veOIK, has the right to participate and contribute to the DAO at 3 different levels. Here’s how you can get involved

1️⃣Community Member: By staking your OIK tokens to obtain veOIK, you are entitled to submit and vote on SNIIPs (Space Nation Improvement Proposals) a, thus actively influencing Space Nation's trajectory. Proposal submission and voting by community members will be fully activated in Phase 2, as Space Nation transitions from representative governance to community-led participation. Your involvement plays a crucial role in shaping the DAO's direction!

2️⃣Stellar Council Member: If you're an expert in gaming, DeFi, GameFi, or Web3, you can be nominated to join the Stellar Council-- a distinguished group of 21 community leaders responsible for reviewing & crafting SNIPs and recommending SNIPs to the 7 Guardians for governance voting.

3️⃣Guardian: The 7 Guardians oversee Space Nation's overarching vision. Initially, this group comprises of 2 members from the protocol & 5 from top-tier gamers from the Space Nation community. Guardians will review all SNIPs recommended by the Stellar Council and participate in governance voting. They also hold veto power - applicable only to emergency proposals involving over 10% of the treasury.

Entry requirements to join the Space Nation DAO?

Depending on your role, the entry requirements for participating in the DAO:

👭Community: Hold veOIK tokens to unlock your voting rights to vote and submit SNIPs (starting from Phase 2) - and take part in community-led governance.

🪐 Stellar Council: Nominate (self or electively) on a recurring interval basis. Frequency of Stellar Council nominations will be determined in the DAO Charter

👑 Guardians: Nominate (self or electively) on a recurring interval basis. Frequency of 7 Guardians nominations will be determined in the DAO Charter and based on individual's community contribution and leadership.

The Stellar Council is a trusted cohort within the Space Nation DAO that reviews and shortlists SNIPs submitted by the community. They bring forward the most promising initiatives, which are then passed to the Guardians for final strategic review. To join the Stellar Council, you'll need to meet the following requirements:

1️⃣Expertise: Have proven knowledge and experience in gaming, DeFi, GameFi, or Web3.

2️⃣Community Recognition: Be nominated and elected through a recurring, community-driven process, earning the trust and recognition of fellow members.

3️⃣ Active Participation: Stay actively engaged in the communities through governance activities, discussions, and community contributions.
